XMR Under Attack?
Intro
Time to pick up this habit again. I've been consistently writing now for close to 3 years now. Most of my thoughts have been on my newsletter so I have struggled to write or blog mostly because my thoughts are captured there. For now I am just exploring how I will leverage this moving forward.
Rabbit Holes
I recently have been going down some really fun rabbit holes. Summertime tends to be a time most folks slowdown with social media so I took it as a chance to explore other parts of crypto and my interests overall. I finally set up my gnosis chain which was a quick and easy process thanks to Dappnode and their software. Similar with Bitaxe and joining the Parasite Swarm. Still working on getting my podcast on Arweave which is taking a bit longer for me to figure out in an automated way. Overall vibes are high and having fun.
I recently spun up and N8n server to move away from Zapier and having a blast with that. I set up this cosigner on my safe, I also sent this around to some folks that have way more money than me haha. Pretty easy to follow along and nothing Claude can't help with.
Further Exploration
Zcash, I continue going down this rabbit hole and trying to learn as much as possible. I won't call myself an OG Bitcoiner but as someone who was around in 2012. I constantly have found myself grappling with the idea of large intuitions joining the BTC ranks, the same institutions that didn't believe in me. I think it is why part of me started exploring Monero back in 2020. It felt more cypherpunk or more inline with the ethos that brought me to the space. With discussions of a 51% takeover in the mining happening now, I would hate to see Monero die. Zcash gives me hope but competition in this space is needed and having such a large privacy coin like XMR fall is not something we should be rooting for.
Offline payments and more private payment methods, like Cashu eCash. Been going hard on this. Hopefully I can get Calle on the podcast. Been thinking about this one heavily for a community I am part of. Seems like a fun experiment worth exploring I just wish fedimint version was a bit easier to deploy for non technical folks.
Another one that caught my eye in this space that I have been going deep on is EIP-7503. This one also shows some promise because since it is not a smart contract interaction it can go undetected a lot more.
I also built a Discord server for Area51. I have a Telegram chat I have been messing with and I had a Discord server a while back. I mostly closed it back then because it was a combination of my photography and my content. This one will be purely focused on building for my content. Also just leveraging it for N8n connection. If you want to join the weird side of crypto. Get in there.
Stay weird and enjoy your summer. Also check out my new episode of my podcast with Jango. We go deep on Revnets.
